Rhino Shield Lawsuit Bogus Warranty
Rhino Shield is by far the worse paint you can put on your home! They advertise won't peel, crack, or blister right!
Well let me tell you that's the farthest thing from the truth. The Rhino Shield on my house is blistering and peeling. I have made many attempts to resolve my issue with them with no luck. We're to the point I have been told the owner Dale has retired.
I still believe his son Jeff is running the place. I called corporate they said to take it up with the dealer so not much help from "Corporate Either." Bottom line they are selling snake oil and lie about their warranty and will not stand behind their work or their warranty! I have many photos including emails from them telling me they will not be doing anything for us! Buyer beware!!!!
Please feel free to contact me for any info. Including how the our law suite against Rhino Shield is going.

Very Unprofessionnal and Sloppy
First I noticed that the Rhino Shield being painted on the doors was being applied over rough areas. No sanding done prior to application.
I had to report that gross oversight to Chris Mayo. They recitified that for the most part. There was to be some repair to my wood deck which had a good bit of rough wood and some loose boards. The contractor worked on it in a haphazard fashion.
I kept having to point out that boards were still loose after they thought they were done.
Much of the repair work was done in a very unprofessional way and is sloppy. Also the regular paint was applied to the still rough surface of the deck. It started peeling within days. One of the shutters blew off on a windy day and is scratched.
It appears that anchors were not used in the brick and/or they weren't the right kind.
I am a 67 year old woman who's not particularly handy but even I know how important is is to properly prep surfaces for painting.
So far I haven't had any results in my effort to have the problems resolved. I will update this post if anything changes.

Shady Bussiness Practices
I have filed a Better Business Bureau complaint on this company due to dishonest, unscrupulous behavior and above all else, breach of contract. My story is long but I will include a condensed version to sum up my experiences with this company and it's inexcusable business practices. I know the product may seem appealing but I would urge you to take your business elsewhere. Those who run this franchise are nothing short of deceitful rip-off artists.
Please understand, I have formal, signed, written documentation to support everything I state below. The bottom line is that after all parties signed the LEGALLY BINDING contract, the "owners/managers" started trying to weasel more money out of me. When I refused, that is when these guys revealed their truly deceptive practices!
My BBB complaint ID is 1274**** (filed 3/21/2018) and reads as follows:
"In September of 2017, after calling Rhino Shield of Chicagoland, Anthony Boldrini Jr came to our house to provide a quote on a 25-year ceramic coating system (Rhino Shield Paint) to the trim, doors, etc. of our brick home. There was (and is) peeling/chipping paint on those areas of the home, which were to be worked on. After the initial proposal was given at $10,645, (I have this proposal) and several phone conversations, a legally binding contract was signed for the work to be done for $11,045 (I have the contract, as well, signed 10/8/2017). [This work was to include the stripping of the areas to be painted] A week or two later, two men (claiming to be with Rhino Shield) showed up (unannounced) to my property to look at the work to be done. They said they thought maybe the contract-agreed-upon price was too low but they'd go back to the office and "figure it out." I received no communication. I called repeatedly but the managers/owners were always "out of the office" and never returned calls. Finally, I left a message stating that I would be going to the BBB. Almost immediately, I got a call from Anthony Boldrini Sr. He stated the work would be done (with warranty) but not all stripping would be done as originally stated in contract. I reluctantly agreed. He also stated that it was too late into the fall to begin work but it would be done first thing Spring of 2018. I told him to take the $3300 deposit but he said it wasn't necessary. Forward to March 2018, I tried contacting Anthony Boldrini Sr two times with no response. Finally, I received a call back from a "manager" stating they wouldn't do the work that, on several occasions, was promised would be done. I stated at that point that I would be going to the BBB and hung up the phone. The people at Rhino Shield have lied, misled, avoided responsibility, placed blame on several of their own employees, and most importantly, have broken the contract (which again, I still have in my possession). This has been incredibly frustrating and it should have never been allowed to happen."

Resolved: Terrible Company
Rhino Shield just repainted my house and did a great job - although late they did live up to the warranty. I would recommend them.
The company said it would make good on its warranty but never did. They kept making excuses. I am filing a law suit for the complete refund of my money.
After having read other reviews on this site I see that I am not an isolated case.
I would like to know if any one had been successful in court. The New York courts are pretty fair when it comes to consumer issues.
I will also file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and some internet sites.

Warranty Scam!!
Below is our complaint with the BBB about Rhino Shield Wisconsin and their response. These guys don't tell you about the 2yr warranty at time of sale then they avoid sending you a written warranty period. Their response was comical we have over 20,000 successful installations and happy customers yet you couldn't get my house rite. That 20,000 number is pretty impressive considering they've been in Milwaukee for three years. I can't figure out how a company that lies so much even to the BBB is still in Business. They will tell you what you want to hear to get a sale after they destroy your house they really don't care. After coming across this site I think Rhino Shield will be appearing on the TV Show American Greed Very Soon!
Problems with Product/Service
Complaint
work was completed at an unsatisfactory level according to brochures from the business. We settled on a price and paid it in full at the end of November 2017. Still waiting for our 25 year Warranty Certificate and receipt that the invoice was paid in full.
Desired Resolution We paid Rhino Shield at the end of November 2017 and have had contact with them several times to obtain the 25 year warranty certificate and copy of the invoice "Paid In Full". We keep getting told that it will be sent to us shortly. Last phone message from Rhino Shield was February 20, 2018... saying It will be mailed out shortly. It is now another Month and still no paperwork.

Hi, we send out all warranties after the job is complete. If the customer didn't receive the warranty or misplaced it, they can call us and we can resend. We will resend. Thanks!

we have been waiting since the end of November 2017 for the warranty and signed copy of the... invoice. We have contacted them EVERY couple weeks asking for the paperwork and they keep telling us "It will be Sent" I know they have stated that they will resend it but they never sent it the first time. What happens if after another month we still don't receive the paperwork? Do we file another claim for it. This is getting very frustrating. Their customer service is terrible. (has been from day 1)Can' believe a Company like this is even in business.Hoping that this will get revolved in the near future but not holding my breath.

Called for a quote
I called Rhino Shield in Chicago as advertised on WGN Radio station. I need a 15' by 3' metal roof painted.
I'll never have to paint it again, sounds great.
I get a call from Rhino Shield. The guy on the phone tells me, this job is too small.
You don't say anything about the size of a job in your commercial. He tells me that he needs to make 6000.00 or better and the job is to small.

Experienced Contractor
Just a bit of advice. I’ve been a contractor since 1997 so I know a little about construction.
I am not going to rate this company as I have no experience with them or their product, but I would never use it. A paint or Rhinoshield or whatever you use is not used to keep water out of your house or prevent leaks. It is used to seal the exterior covering of your house whether it’s wood or concrete or stucco or whatever. A correctly built structure with a correctly installed siding/covering that has been caulked and sealed will keep water out of your house.
Whether it’s Rhinoshield or paint, anything used to seal the exterior of your home needs to be applied to wood that is solid, dry, and without rot. My best advice would be to have any rotted or loose wood repaired correctly and then painted.
Please do not go with cheap paint. Use a good quality paint applied over a solid, clean, dry exterior and you will be good to go for years.

WOW, I noticed the Rhino Shield Jax guys using Sherman Williams paint buckets with a Rhino Shield Jax logo on the side of it! Completely deceptive!
This is the worst thing any potential customer could read. I am glad I looked a these reviews. I'll be putting siding up instead.
